Art is Honesty. But Honesty Doesn’t Pay the Bills
Art is Honesty. But Honesty Doesn’t Pay the Bills.
Art is raw truth; no filter, no compromise.
It’s the scream in the void, the pulse beneath the surface.
It’s honesty laid bare.
But honesty doesn’t pay rent.
It doesn’t fill the fridge.
It doesn’t buy paints or pixels.
Without money, honesty withers.
No bills paid, no tools, no time.
No space to create, no fuel for inspiration.
The cruel paradox:
To be honest, artists need to survive.
To survive, many must sacrifice honesty.
So art becomes a currency,
not of truth, but of survival.
The system demands:
“Make it sellable.”
“Make it popular.”
“Make it marketable.”
And slowly, honesty fades,
buried beneath trends and transactions.
This is the battle every honest artist fights:
Between truth and survival.
