Decentralized” Payment? You Still Need Stripe, Bro.

🧨 “Decentralized” Payment? You Still Need Stripe, Bro.

Ah yes, the new economy.
You scan a QR. Pay with crypto.
The merchant gets fiat.

Everyone claps.
"Wow, Web3 mass adoption!"
But behind the curtain?

💳 It’s Just Fintech. Again.

They slap a “Web3” sticker on the front…
and wire your money back into the same TradFi system.

🪤 It’s Not Peer-to-Peer.

It’s Peer-to-Platform-to-Bank-to-Fiat.

With gas fees.
Swap fees.
KYC forms.
AML bottlenecks.
And of course… a piece of your soul.

🤡 It’s Not a Revolution. It’s a Wrapper.

A shiny UI.
Some startup VC funding.
And a backend that settles everything in USD.

Your crypto isn’t buying pizza.
It’s buying points in a custodial dashboard
…while some middleman in Silicon Valley collects 3.5%.

🧠 Real Talk:

If you still rely on:
Payment processors
Card-linked crypto wallets
Fiat settlements
Token auto-swaps to dollars

…then you’re not building an alternative.
You’re rerouting fiat traffic through Web3 highways
just to look cool.

🏦 The Payment Gateway Mafia

They claim:
“We’re bringing crypto to the real world.”

What they mean is:
“We’re extracting crypto from you and giving fiat to them for a fee.”

It’s fintech, not freedom.

🪞 So next time you say “I paid with crypto!”

Ask yourself:
Did the merchant ever touch your tokens?
Did the money go through a foreign custodian?
Did you just pay 3 fees to feel rebellious?

If the answer is yes, then…

You didn’t do peer-to-peer.
You did peer-to-fee.
