To All DePIN Builders

🚨 To All DePIN Builders:

If you’re building decentralized physical infrastructure, but participation requires buying your proprietary hardware or licensed software…

That’s not Web3.
That’s not open infrastructure.
That’s capitalism in cosplay.

You say:
“We need standards to ensure quality.”

Sure.
But let’s be clear:
Standards ≠ Monopoly
Open ≠ Buy-From-Us-Only
Decentralized ≠ Certified by One Vendor

🧱 What you’re building is not a protocol.

It’s a vending machine with DAO branding to distract from the lock-in.

You talk about permissionless systems, but only allow permissioned hardware.
You call it an ecosystem, but treat it like a franchise.

Web3 was never about this.

Web3 is:
Anyone can build.
Anyone can plug in.
Anyone can fork.
No license needed.
No paywall to join the network.

If your network breaks when others join with their own tools, you didn’t build a protocol. You built a product.

So if you really believe in the Web3 ethos, then:

Do this:
✅ Publish open hardware standards
✅ Let the community build compatible devices
✅ Release software under open-source licenses
✅ Accept nodes not bought from you
✅ Let people contribute without asking for permission or buying anything first

Or if not?

Just say you're running a business.
Be honest. Sell your product.
But don’t pretend it’s a revolution.

Because real revolutions don’t come in branded boxes.
