Why Are We Chasing Alpha?

๐Ÿง  Why Are We Chasing Alpha?

1. Because we’re not chasing purpose.

In the absence of meaning, people chase signals.
When you don’t know why you’re here, you follow whoever looks like they’re winning.

2. Because “winning” in Web3 is defined by flipping, not building.

“Did you mint early?”
“Did you ape in before the pump?”
“Did you sell before the rug?”

The highest status doesn’t go to the most useful tool…
It goes to the luckiest gambler with the loudest tweet.

3. Because value isn’t clear, so hype becomes compass.

Web3 is still early. Signals are foggy.
So instead of fundamentals, people follow:
- CT
- Floor price
- Retweets
- VC mentions
- Discord FOMO

Alpha = shortcut to perceived intelligence.

4. Because everything is moving too fast.

“If I don’t jump on this now, I’ll miss it.”
“They said 100x in 3 days!”
“Only 777 supply bro!!!”

In a system where speed = profit, patience becomes poverty.
So people chase alpha to avoid regret, not to pursue insight.

5. Because Web3 is full of noise, and alpha sounds like signal.

But let’s be honest:
- Most “alpha” is just recycled exit liquidity.
- Most “calls” are paid promotions.
- Most “research” is a screenshot of someone else’s hype.

๐Ÿงจ The real alpha?

- Slow down.
- Ask why.
- Build for one person who gives a damn.
- Learn deeply.
- Create what you wish existed.

Let others chase exit doors.
You build the room.
